Mexican Drug Cartel solders shot in the Arizona desert: Los Zeta officer says shoot to kill Americans in retaliation
Mexican Drug Cartel solders shot in the Arizona desert: Los Zeta officer says shoot to kill Americans in retaliation
By Michael Webster: Investigative Reporter Syndicated July 8, 2010 at 12:30 PDT
One of my informants that I've called Juan in earlier news reports, called me recently about the phone, he gave me at at the last meeting a month ago. He told me that his boss a Los Zeta Mexican drug cartel officer wanted to meet me and give me some important information about the so-called war on drugs rages on the border. A date and time were created for this meeting in a public place.
During this meeting, the Mexican I met was clean shave with a military style, "high and tight" short hair cut, there seemed to be around, I guess 35 years old or thereabouts, who claimed to be an officer in Los Zeta Mexican drug cartel organization. He told me straight out that he believed two of his men were shot and killed recently in the desert in Arizona by U.S. vigilantes, and he would take revenge. He first said he thought that his men when killed by opposing drug cartel Member gangs. He said that he and his men had killed several band members recently that they thought was responsible for these killings and other recent attacks in the area.
It bloody confrontation took place just south of the Arizona border. Shootout, left 21 dead. The violence took place between the villages of Saric and Tubutama along a notorious smuggling corridor. Close lies the town of Altar, which I have reported previously that in more than a decade has been a major staging area for illegal smugglers headed for the Arizona border.
The World Net Daily reported that while Americans celebrated Independence Day weekend, news of a gun battle near the Arizona-Mexican border, rivalry something from the old "Wild West" days, was not getting much attention.
Here is what you probably missed: Rival Mexican drug gangs shot beyond 12 miles outside of Arizona, and 21 died. At least six others were wounded.
The Los Zeta officer said: "I think now my men was shot by crazed American vigilante cowards who attacked my solders night, shot them from a great distance using high-powered American rifles. Than our load of drugs was stolen. "
He said, "This is a warning to those type of groups that his men have been instructed to shoot and kill any Americans who have seen armed and roaming deserts. "He continued by saying that the murder of his men have not been properly investigated by the sheriff of Pinal County.
The Los Zeta officer said: "I think there is a cover-up of sheriff Paul Babeu by protecting Americans who did the killing. If the facts of this case are not revealed publicly and they owed them is not prosecuted so I will keep sheriff personally responsible ".
Los Zeta officer continued to tell me that 'I have many of my Zeta solders posted throughout the area see these groups and movements, and it will be just a matter of time before our site is revenge. "" In the intervening time you must leave our people alone and medicines they make, or my instructions, we will stand and it would mean war. "
Vigilante man type death squads roam Mexican drug cartels drug corridor choke points, in search of armed drug smugglers. These patrols are heavily armed with military style automatic and semi- automatic weapons, including 50 cal sniper rifles with night vision scopes and use technology such as night vision binoculars, Vietnam ground fault sensors and hidden cameras track. Using these sophisticated weapons and technology makes them a real force to be reckon with and very dangerous, while patrolling the Arizona desert and many other places on the U.S. Mexican border from Texas to California.
There are several voluntary groups in the U.S., claiming to keep an eye on our border with Mexico. Many of them known as the Minuteman or patriot organizations. Some are just weekend worries and do not represent much of a threat to Mexicans and not try to arrest or otherwise play border patrol. They mostly just spot suspicious activity and call it in the permit.
Jason "JT" Ready
But there are other groups which is known to authorities as true vigilantes who are serious and dangerous, and Jason "JT" Ready, who recently said publicly, and through emails to invite his people to come to Vekol Valley in Pinal County in camouflage clothes and bring "lots of guns and ammunition."
He is promoting it as the "Minuteman Project on steroids, "he writes at the end of one of his emails in all caps," The invasion stops here. "
He writes that the "situation"
"Armed drug Terrorists brings in plenty of Chemical Warfare in our nation. These attacks should be treated any less serious than al-Qaeda terrorists smuggling Sarin nerve gas into our population centers. "
Clear, as a result of his calling for volunteers to launch a special operations response in a Pinal County valley, Sheriff Paul Babeu recently said, is in control of drug smugglers. And when his deputy was shot and where the two un-identified Mexicans were found shot and killed by unknown assailants in for the last month.
According to Ready Action is underway and that his men are there to show strength and solidarity such patriots. NSM, Constitutional, militias Biker MC's, National Guard, Military, multi-state participation groups, etc. [SIC] to be on the line near Interstate 8 to show the world to the line in the sand has been drawn. This is a completely legal venture and utmost professionalism and self-control is recommended.
"We're going To block narcoterrorists, coming up through this area, "said Jason" JT "Ready, which is one of the organizers of the group.
Ready says volunteers come from all over Arizona, and even out of state, to support the effort.
"This is the Minuteman Project on steroids," Ready explains. "We've got people with assault weapons. We will use lawful deadly force if necessary. "
According to some reports, Ready has ties to extremist groups, including a neo-Nazi group known National Socialist Movement. Ready has denied that the group is neo-Nazi.
But Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu says: "Although I appreciate their support and offer to take up arms and patrol, this would not be helpful and would only cause a strain on already strained resources and their security must be a priority. I'm not asking or encouraging them to come here. "
Arizona authorities allegedly found two bodies near a common border Recently, not far from where a police deputy was shot in April last year (MyFoxPhoenix.com).
According to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, working with ICE and the Mexican Consulate to identify the men and gives carers, as information from the caller and documents on stage "strongly suggests both men are now believed Mexican nationals. Earlier authorities believed the pair were Americans.
Some investigators want to believe this incident is probably a result of the ongoing violent struggle between Mexican drug cartels and not an American vigilante shooting. Investigators have been unable to confirm whether they two men are part of drug trafficking or just what they did in camp.
Authorities believe that Sinaloan drug cartel, is currently controls the area from Rocky Point, Sonora, Mexico to Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. How ever there are reports that Los Zeta drug cartels have moved into the area and is now challenging Sinaloan drug cartel.
"A rival cartel, or other people won their product from them and also killed them," Babeu said.
An autopsy on the bodies found brands on one of the men's shoulders in line with with a great package. Babeu says it could have been from carrying a drug load. Investigators are also looking, if not these men were involved in shooting of deputy Purrol. This is because they prayed dispatched to send someone to the place where purrol were shot.
"So they know the area. It's just not people who see it on TV. The desert looks like in all sorts of remote areas of Arizona. He actually knew where the deputy was shot, "Babeu said.
Sheriff admits cartels are operating in his county and outside the federal government's help, they can not gain control.
Babeu points out that cartels control parts of his county in remote areas of drug corridors in the desert here in western Pinal County. Our government has even erected signs warning people beware it is a known drug corridor, "Babeu said.
A spokesman told the media that when the 911 call came in deputies immediately began a search but found two bodies shot to death after four hours of searching. As a result of this violence Babeu prompted President Barack Obama to send 3,000 National Guard troops to the border to stop it.
"We can not patrol not only those remote areas, we have a tough enough time just to respond to our emergencies,"
Substitutes found an automatic rifle near one of the men who were killed. The couple have not yet identified but Babeu think one of the men were caught illegally in the United States at least seven times.
During the 911 call, a wounded suspected smuggler revealed tantalizing knowledge of the shooting of a Pinal County Sheriff's deputy, sheriff, said. He caller is now suspected of being a drug dealer called 911 the evening, after he and a partner were shot while walking a smuggling trail in southwestern Pinal County. He and partner died in a remote area before officers could find them. While trying to explain his location to a dispatcher, the suspected smuggler said in Spanish that he was "just here, where they shot the sheriff ."…

Babeu the high-profile Arizona sheriff who has been pronounced its support for its controversial new immigration law has received death threats myFOXphoenix.com reported recently.
Some of the threats Babeu was from the Mexican mafia and drug cartel members according to the report.
Outside, police teams brought in to investigate the threats found them credible.
Babeu was very frank about need to ensure its border with Mexico – a known input to the U.S. for drug smugglers and illegal immigrants human smugglers – and supports the law SB1070, which makes illegal immigration a state crime.
Despite threats Babeu fell a personal security detail, because the county resources were already stretched.
"I understand this threat, but I will not run in fear or change my support for SB1070 and my demands for President Obama to secure our borders with 3,000 armed soldiers in Arizona and start building the fence again, "he said.
"I am always armed, and all law enforcement members know, we always have to be aware on our surroundings and potential threats. "
Pinal County is nearly 5,400 square miles and a large part of the desert is known as a drug and human trafficking corridor.
U.S. Border Fire Report called the Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu to ask how the investigation of the two dead Mexican nationals coming along. I would like to ask if they had been identified and there were no suspects in murder? Was sheriff investigate the possibility that American vigilantes had shot and killed the two Mexican nationals? This was several days ago with no reply to date.
