So, what is OUAC?
Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC) is a non-for-profit centralized application hub for aspiring students planning to take admission to the top Canadian universities. All the Canadian universities use the OUAC data to view student marks in grade 11 and grade 12. Based on the posted grades, universities decide which students qualify for admission.
However, before you apply for the OUAC application, you need to know what type of applicant you are. OUAC divides the applicants into three categories – OUAC 101, OUAC 105D, and OUAC 105F.
- OUAC 101 applicants are those who have done their secondary education in the schools of Ontario.
- OUAC 105D applicants are those who reside in Canada but haven’t done their secondary education in schools in Ontario.
- OUAC 105F applicants are those who reside outside Canada, are not Canadian citizens, and are not currently attending an Ontario high school day program.
What are the requirements for OUAC 101 applicants?
- You are under 21 years of age
- You must take a course at an Ontario high school
- You must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- You have not been out of high school for more than 7 consecutive months
- You haven’t attended a post-secondary college, university or institute
- You are applying to the first year of an undergraduate degree program at an Ontario university
What are the requirements for OUAC 105 applicants?
- You reside outside Canada
- You are not currently attending an Ontario high school day program
- You currently reside in Canada, including Canadian citizens, immigrants who have received the PR, or individuals who are studying in Canada on a study visa

No matter whether you are OUAC 101 or OUAC 105 applicant, you must have to apply via OUAC. 101 channel is ideal for fresh high school graduates who have an OSSD course graduation certificate, whereas 105 channel is suitable for high school graduates without an OSSD graduation certification.
